Admins and users with ‘Edit expense data for all transactions’ permissions can issue new physical cards to all users from the Cards dashboard ‘Admin view’. There is a limit of 1 (one) physical card per team member at any one time.
Pro tip: Team members must have cards set as a payment type before you can issue them a physical card.
How to issue a physical card:
Step 1: From the top menu bar, Navigate to the Payments > Cards page (Admin View)
Step 2: Tap ‘Issue new card’ and on the slide out drawer click on the ‘Issue physical card’ button.
Step 3: Select who the physical card is for and ‘Continue’.
Step 4: Confirm card details, mailing address and agree to the physical card fee and click ‘Issue card’.
Important! Please note that once a new physical card has been issued, this team member’s virtual card will need to be re-added to their mobile wallet.
The physical card functions just like the Weel virtual card, with spend limits tied directly to the budget it's linked to. Users can easily connect their card to any available budget through the Weel mobile app or web platform before making purchases. Please note that both the physical card and mobile wallet card will be linked to the same budget and can be changed at any time.
Virtual cards, as the name suggests, exist purely in digital form and are accessible through our mobile app or online platform. They provide immediate access upon issuance, allowing for instant payments and greater convenience, especially for online transactions and digital wallets. Additionally, virtual cards offer enhanced security features, such as the ability to freeze or delete the card instantly in case of unauthorised use.
On the other hand, physical card is a tangible plastic card for those who prefer traditional payment methods or require a physical card for in-store transactions. Our physical cards provide the same level of security and functionality as their virtual counterparts, with the added benefit of being accepted at locations that may not support virtual payments.
When you sign up for a physical card, you'll receive it in the mail. You'll also get immediate access to a virtual card, which is linked to the same account and can be used right away. With Weel, you have the flexibility to seamlessly transition between both forms of payment while enjoying the same level of security and convenience.
Your physical card is accepted anywhere that Visa is accepted, in-store and online.
Yes, your physical card will work overseas anywhere that Visa is accepted. Please note that for foreign transactions, a FX fee of 0.95% will be applied to the transaction. This fee ensures that you can conveniently use your card internationally while still enjoying competitive exchange rates.
Physical cards can be issued by Account Owners or Admins to any employee who has the Cards payment type assigned to them.If an employee does not currently have the Cards payment type, it can easily be added by the Account Owner or Admin via the User Management page.
Once a physical card is issued by an Account Owner or Admin, the employee can expect to receive it via AusPost within 7-10 business days.
When you're issuing a physical card, you'll have the opportunity to select the delivery address. Please note that physical cards can only be shipped to addresses within Australia. We do not ship to PO boxes or internationally at this time.

The price of a physical card is $15 + GST per card. In the event of needing a replacement card, the same fee will be charged. We aim to keep our pricing transparent and competitive while providing a seamless experience for our users.

To link a budget to your primary card, you can use the Weel mobile app or the Weel web platform.

Step 2: On the Cards screen, find the budget you'd like to link to your card
Step 3: Click on the checkbox next to "Use budget in Apple / Google Wallet"
This will link the budget to your primary card (mobile wallet + physical card) and all the purchases will be tracked to this budget until you link it to another budget.
