Decline comments on mobile

What's new?

When you decline an approval in the Weel mobile app, you can now add a comment explaining why. You can also request changes instead of declining outright, so the submitter fixes the issue and resubmits without starting over.

This works across every approval type on mobile: cards, reimbursements, top-ups, and accounts payable invoices. It brings the mobile app in line with the web experience, where decline comments were already available.

This is available to customers on our Premium and Enterprise plans.

Why it matters

  • Submitters know what to fix: A declined expense comes with the reason attached, so there is no follow-up message needed to explain it.
  • Fewer back-and-forths: Request changes keeps the original submission intact, so the submitter edits and resubmits in one step.
  • Consistent with web: The same decline actions you use at your desk now travel with you on mobile.

How to get started

  1. Update to the latest Weel mobile app.
  2. Tap Approvals and open any pending approval.
  3. Tap Decline, then add your comment or choose Request changes.
  4. The submitter receives your comment and can fix and resubmit.
